Talking Save my Corvette from my 15 year old computer whiz

I have a 1987 Corvette Convertible, 350 TPI Automatic. My 15 year old computer wiz is totally entranced by the idea of tuning a cars computer. I have a Moates APU1 with all the necessary cables, a bunch of 27SF512 chips, TunerProRT and Flash and Burn software, GP1 and HDR1 adapters. What we want to do is read the Memcal (ECU), save the information on the computer and burn a chip which will have the same information as the Memcal. I know I can use the HDR1 to do this and use the GP1 to install the chip in the ECU. All that's great but the procedure is totally confusing. I wonder if someone can give us a step by step on accomplishing "our" project. I think I need the $32B mask. Does the 32B.xdf get loaded first. Do I save the information downloaded from the Memcal to the computer as a .bin? Does that get loaded after the .xdf. The Flash and Burn software asks for Hex addresses (4), where do I find these? Anyway, if someone could step "us" through the process I'd really appreciate it (and especially appreciate a Corvette that doesn't "crash and burn"). Thanks and God Bless. Bernie
