    newbie needing help with aldl

    hello i built a diy cable for the aldl seems i cant get it to read on any of the programs tried winaldl i get some readings if i put in the wrong ecm mine is the 16144288 in a 91 s10 4.3l manual trans. if i have it as a 1227747, 1228062 i get some values on raw data mw2 and promida but nothing else, tunerpro rt doesn't seem to link with the cable at all . ant help would be appreciated

    here is an adx ,adl file for the 288. if you are running w 10 run in compatable mode with this web sight it will down load better. you set up your cable in tuner pro preferences?

    i believe i set it up in tuner pro i went through the settings and set it to use plug in , tunerpro acquisition i/o interface , standard serial port and the correct com port, would having a bad adx be the problem. all i found where ads fills and i converted it to an adx the wat there site says to do it. i have the same xdf file though . and my laptop is running window 7

    the wrong adx would read wrong. the ones I posted is what I use on my 91 4.3 std. I think they are setup for data tracing also. I had problems with tpro locking up when I was data logging some time ago,i reinstalled it and fixed the problem.

    found a bunch a schematics on line and kinda followed a video of one for an lt1 that was similar i got a FTDI FT232RL USB to TTL Serial Converter Adapter Module. diode on rx , rx and tx connected after diode then a 10k resistor between rx tx and ground

    On my cable, I didn't use a diode or a resistor. Just soldered the comm wire to both TX and RX, and the ground to ground.

    I used a 1k resistor on the RX and a 1N914 diode on the TX. Diode cathode or stripe goes to the TX terminal. Connect the other ends of diode and resistor together to go to the ALDL data terminal. ALDL ground terminal goes to the ground terminal of the adapter.

    think I might have figured it out I did not get an ft232 I got a prolific 2303, and from reading around on here ive seen the pl2303 of other people do the same thing so I guess I will order me up the right thing
