    LT1 Supercharger

    Hi
    I have a friend that want to put a supercharger on a 95 LT1. He use a 16181333 ECU.
Is there anyone that have a bin file we can use to start the tune?
    Grateful for any help :)

    really depends on your approach

speed density, or pull through maf?

    what map sensor?

if you use the stock map sensor it works ok but you're stuck with a totally fixed timing advance in boost (you still have RPM control, though), and you can't run speed density, just pull-through maf (which also works pretty well), you can take your stock bin and just knock some 100kpa timing off for a start.

or use a 2 bar map sensor, just take every table and scale it back in half rebuild it so 50kpa is actually 100kpa. that way you have half a timing table and half a ve table off boost, and half in boost. you can re-label your columns, but it's not really necessary.

    so what's the plan?

i could whip you up a crappy starter bin, but with boost and since we don't know anything about your build, there are so many variables i'd just use pull-through-maf and a 2 bar, and dial your timing advance waaay back until you figure out what's goin' on. you can use (very carefully) use eehack while driving to find appropriate ballpark timing when in boost

    Hi again
We use a stock LT1 with a Vortec V2 supercharger. Use a stock map sensor but have a Holley 3 bar sensor if that would be better. We also uses the maf.
I use the TunerPro RT for tuning.
When we use the stock map (bin) the engine runs very rich. I have used Megasquirt before and tuned with overpressure but I'm new to tune stock ECU's. Gratefull for any help :)

you probably just need to adjust your maf table to fix your overall fueling. dont use a 3 bar sensor, i tried, there isnt enough resolution for it (unless you run really high boost)

are you using my xdf, or...?

if you can tune a megasquirt this isnt so different.

Yes I use the eex.xdf from you.
Ok. So I can adjust the 3 MAF Calibration tables in TunerPro RT? It's the only table I can find any to adjust this. Any idea how much to adjust this to begin with? 20% ?
Spark advance is up t 46 degrees on a standard ECU, but with 8 psi boost I should probably adjust this down a bit.
Again, I'm not to familiar with boost and overpresseure tuning. :)
Thanks for good and helpful answers Steveo.

Just remember that the GEN 2 LT1 uses a 10.4:1 compression ratio, that's pretty high to start adding copious amounts of boost to. Be sure to use some high octane fuels, E85 perhaps?

it'd probably handle 8psi if you don't beat on it, but yeah i'd tend to pulley 'er down a few psi. i did help tune a ~10psi turbo thing with no intercooler on a stock lt1, and we had a lot of trouble keeping it out of knock, but it did end up working out. i ran it super rich at high rpm. I don't think it's exploded yet.
