What exactly is the purpose of the box in middle of cable? I thought it was for wrting blocks? LT1 can flash without a box but it is entire bin file. The box is also what encrypts/decrypts files in some software IIRC.

Even with the cable/box the software end is huge?

The box in the middle translates the OBD2 protocol into something that the computer can understand whether its VPW, CAN, etc. I'm hoping to have something interesting for us to play with in the coming year.

I have my original serial box from TCII.
I don't really want to get rid of it since my backup computer is setup for it and i'm a hoarder.
I really need to be able to datalog and burn OBDI though.
I would be interested in trading for a moates setup or similar that will allow me to do that possibly.
