    Need opinion 7060 vs 7747

Greetings.I need opinion on choosing the right option.I have both 7060 and 7747 ecm.I`m converting MEL430 7.0l engine from carb to TBI. No EGR, old style 3 speed automatic transmission so i don`t need transmission control no vss as it`s 1962 so its all old fashion.But.I`m focused all the time on that 7060 because cost me few $ but will require disabling transmission control, egr, VSS and probably some other bits and bobs.I reed many posts that VSS is a great thing, however because its a Lincoln retrofiting cable adapter will be tricky. What would you guys recommend, what are your ideas, how would you approach that? Thanks for any feedback.

Better xdf definition file with the 7747 but it's slower, and the 7060 is more than capable of doing what you want. After being told how great the 27 is and finally swapping my stock 7060 out, I'd still run a 7427 if I was going to EFI, wouldn't even waste my time with the others.

I just seen you're in the UK... In that case you should look at replacement 7060s and see how common they are. Might want to stick with the 7747 because the 7060 is not nearly as popular, not sure how that translates to parts house availability but it's something to consider.

I mentioned that i own both already on the shelf with memcal from 454 for 7060. Also have 7747. What i really want to know is:Will 7060 actually work without its designated transmission. Will 7747 and 7060 work without VSS. If not, what kind of VSS sensor should i use for cable driven speedo.I also have variety of proximity/hall effect sensors that i might fit onto rear axle somehowIt`s my first conversion project and really lacking of any support here in UK.Thanks

With limited local UK support, I recommend the '7747 without a VSS. The VSS is not needed, but it will help the overall drive-ability. A link for a possible VSS option: http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Spe...eedometer.html dave w

Had thought about it and as you dave said, 7747 will better option. I might keep the 7060 for future, you never know there might be need for transmission control with next project :DBought yesterday VSS from 70 tbird, looks like all the stuff being sold around. hopefully it will work.
