    0411 beating the horse

So, read many threads scattered here and there regarding replacing flash. Threads about trying to make the flash removable w/ a socket.

    Would something like this work?

There is 13 pages where we talk about it. But it looks like it has fizzled out.

See post #165 on page 11. I still think something like that could work.

My idea: Buy two 411 ecm's. Cut a hole in one, do what I talk about in the above mentioned post. Tune ecm till you get it where you want it, then take the other one apart, remove chip, reprogram, then solder back in place and close back up. Now you have a tuned and sealed 411. Then just keep the other one if you need or want to tune some more. But what chip burner and software to use?

I think that's a little cluttered/spendy $125, was mainly hoping someone knew of a US supplier for a similar socket.I have a chip programmer already, I just need to buy an adapter for the Intel flash chip.Bought an 0411 off eBay last week for $25 shipped.I'll update the thread once I get all the parts needed and the socket installed etc.I sure wish I still worked @ Intel, used to have a bunch of hardware guys, engineers, and even a small group that were working on automotive projects. They were always happy to answer my dumb questions.
