    1994 Caprice 5.7 LT1 Code 44

Earlier today took the kiddo to Dr., (~5 miles) when I got home I thought I smelled something off.
Just now went to pick up other kiddo from school, while idling @ curb car started running pretty rough and check engine light came on.
Drove home ~1 mile, car running like crap, very rough, felt like it was running on 7 cylinders.

So, get home grab laptop, showing code 44.
Drop bank 1 cylinders one @ time #7 barely makes any difference in rpm or how it runs.
Checked injector connectors were secure, ohm tested injector terminals, all reading ~12-13 ohms.
I can hear them each clicking on/off with a stethoscope.

Cannot find my fuel pressure gauge @ moment, have to dig around and get a reading.
I did unplug FP regulator, engine ran different, right bank fuel increased, left bank did not.

Can even actually smell that it's uber lean.
BLM=160 INT=193 (idling) on left bank (right bank normal numbers), slowly revving engine brings BLM/INT down touch, but still uber lean.

Sooo BUMMED, hoping it's something like injector, but I never have good luck so I seriously doubt it.

No noises in the engine? Sudden change? It could be an injector. We've seen it here before.

Yep, no new engine noises, pretty sudden. Kind of out of the blue, it was fine on earlier Dr. visit drive (~7 mile drive round trip).
Then on the trip to my other daughter's school (1.2 miles) started to run crappy.

The steel bodied injectors get warm to the touch when fuel isn't flowing through them. Compare two different cylinders with your bare fingers.

    Tore into it today.
The left o2 sensor was actually bad...removed it from car and testing on bench couldn't get it over ~.235mv
Robbed the wideband from my Jeep, and installed that. Datastream looks good now, and appears it is fixed.

Will test drive it later tonight to make sure.
Need to rest for a while. I'm wiped out, I have horrible back pain for over year now...wasn't a fun job crawling around under car & dash.

The sensor appeared to be the original with 142k on odometer.
No matter now, the WB is installed and working fine. I replace the other one later, it also appears to be OE.
