    FTDI FT232 budget adapter cable

I'm wanting to make myself a datalogging cable and was going to give it a go with a cheapo FT232BL adapter off ebay....

Simple as connecting the TXD and RXD terminals together and hooking them into the 8192 baud connection on the OBD1 connector along with the ground connection to the GND pin?

I've messed around with Megasquirt for years so it'll be interesting to see how tuning the old GM stuff compares!

That is all you have to do. Should work well for you.

OK, so I built my cable and installed the driver for it on my laptop. It's COM7

Connected Pin A to GND and Pin M to TXD/RXD.

I've downloaded TunerPRO RT and loaded up what I think are the correct XDF, ADX and BIN files.

However when I plug in nothing seems to happen....the live dash doesn't work and it wont connect. Am I missing something?

Have you set up the datalogging details under preferences?

Have you clicked on the connect button (two blue arrows)?

    Got it working....

Next thing... where the hell does the VE table hide?! I can't find it in the XDF?

I've got the following files loaded up which I think are correct for my ECM

I've finally had chance to try the cable out properly.

With it plugged in and the live dashboard loaded in TunerProRT I see a lot of errors recorded and the gauges jump around at the same time as the errors come. Presumably data/baud related issues unless I've picked up the wrong files?
