4L80E with 16168625 ECU, is this normal?

I am bran new to this but I've been reading and searching.

    I have a 1994 G30 Van with 5.7 and 4L80E, and 16168625 ECU.
I've found bins for 4L60E transmission with this ECU.
I've found bins for 4L80E with different ECUs.
Searching "4L80E 1616825" yields zero results.

    HELP!

I recently learned, the hard way, use a 16197427 PCM with the 4L80E.

Umm... This 16168625 is the PCM that came with this vehicle! With this engine and transmission!

    The 4L80E used either definition $OE or $31. The 16168625 used definition $E6 (4L60E). I've yet to find a factory 16168625 PROM with definition $OE / $31.

I had a member PM me with a question; "I'm just interested in what you learned the hard way? I appreciate your input." I decided to share the reply here, maybe others would benefit from my experience.

I'll try to briefly summarize what happened.
    It started with a good plan, upgrade a 1987 K3500 7.4 liter / TH400 to a rebuilt 4L80E using 16168625 PCM.
Step 1, upgrade to the 16168625, this went flawlessly!
Step 2, install the 4L80E, this step was full of headaches because the 4L80E would not shift on the first test drive.
Step 3, Troubleshooting - nothing wrong.
Step 4, More troubleshooting - still nothing wrong.
Step 5, Replace valve body - still nothing wrong.

Step 6, Try to find a 16168625 4L80E .bin file - nothing, nothing and still nothing. There is not a factory 16168625 4L80E .bin file ... PEROID!!!
Step 7, Try a 16197427 with the same Memcal, Moates.net adapter board and the same $31 .bin that was in the 16168625.
Step 8, HAPPY DANCE!!! The transmission shifts!!!

I don't know what to say, but this van has a 4L80E transmission, and the 16168625 PCM, came that way from the factory, and it has always ran and shifted fine.

    What's going on here?

Maybe doing the 4L80E upgrade caused the issue, seems unlikely because it worked in the end. Maybe there was a problem with the 16168625 PCM originally used, seems unlikely because the 16168625 tested fine in a 93 K1500 5.7 / 4L60E during the Step 3 troubleshooting.

Can you post your .bin file? If you are unable to post your .bin, can you post the Broadcast Code (BCC). Maybe post a picture of the Memcal? I have worked with hundreds of .bin files for 93 ~ 95 Red / Blue PCM. I'm extremely interested in your .bin file!

Very new here but learning. Please consider all of the following with a grain of salt because... new guy.

So I seem to have a 16168625 that uses a definition $0E. Everything about the truck would lead me to believe that it is factory original. Code on the memcal is BBMC (which, as I understand, is supposed to be $E6). The reason I think it is that the only way I can see data from my Autoprom in Tunerpro is when I have an $0E adx file loaded.

    The truck is a 1993 TBI 5.7 4L60E 4WD.

I just ordered a HDR1 today so I will update when I get a chance to grab the stock BIN.

I am building a 1993 Chevy G20 Van. It came with 350 TBI and 4L60e I am replacing this set up with a 383 TPI and 4L80e.

Reading this thread seems to strongly suggest running a 16197427 OR??

A few questions, which will plug into the current ECM hardness??

As this is a rod trip van a stock ECM shifting will be fine.

So what year and model truck will be best to search for??
