    6395 7427 8625 Manual Trans Calibration Listing

There are a handful of calibrations specifically listed for manual transmissions with these pcm's. There are no 305 or 350 manual trans cals. Here is the breakdown:

    Code:
    PCM 4.3 7.4
    6395 BJFD, BDXS BHDB, BHDC,
                    BHDD

    7427 BJWT, BJXJ, BMHJ, BMHK,
                    BJWU BMHL

    8625 BDXW, BBMW,
                    AYXY, BAAK,
                    BCPK, BCPL,
                    BCPM, BDWZ,
                    BDXA, BDXC,
                    BDZA, BDYX
This list was compiled using the following transmission RPOs:
mg5, mt8, mw1, mw3, and my2. No additional truck manual transmission rpos are known for the vehicles which use these pcm's. If you have a specific manual trans RPO you'd like to have checked I'll be glad to do it.

What's strange is we know from other thread that 5.7L came with manual trans! But whenever I find a listing for manual trans it comes back to PCM that you did not include! 16156930

To further explain here is my post from that thread and theory...:
BJYN in Cal Data shows 5.7L Manual 16197427 (superceded to BPSA and differant PCM 16156930) so I thing the BCC Lookup spread sheet is same database as CalData.

On BCCFind it says Trans Type= all/no listing just like the other one gregs78cam posted and he swears it came from an auto truck. CalData shows it to came from PCM 16156930 but it is in 16197427. So maybe GM did not had learned by then how to have a bin for both? By seeing 2 of these now I'd bet the 16156930 PCM is missing a few pieces needed for auto trans?

Manual transmission trucks with 5.0 / 5.7 came with a C3 ECM. There are three numbers, 16156480, 16196396 or 16171199.

BJYN is not a manual transmission calibration. BJYN is a G van calibration and G vans were not available with a manual transmission. The database has M for manual, A for auto, or sometimes it has nothing at all. GM's own software used to show "no listing" calibrations as "ALL" for transmission type but I worked in the dealership and I knew for a fact it was wrong sometimes. So when I wrote BCCFind I made sure it showed "All / No Listing" to indicate there was no specific data for trans type. The final check of course is to look at the cal in Tunerpro and see what options are selected. Greg reported the "manual trans" bit was not set on the trans he found which confirms auto trans.

16156930 PCM superceded to 16197427 with a brief time as a 16196395. GM did a flurrry of part number changes early on and IIRC they had a bulletin out regarding the changes. When there are a lot of quick changes like that I always suspected they'd found internal problems and worked them out during production or had a major vendor change and wanted to track the parts. But you did raise a good point. I need to go back through my search using the 6930 part number to see what comes up.

    Well aren't you cool?

But CalData says BJFC is for 4.3 and BDXS was superceded to BJFC both 16196395 so the more we learn about manual BCC for these PCM the more I get confused?

EDIT: Hex says OD spark says six cylinder but manual transmission is checked! Woo Hoo! Should be able to use this with change to 8 cylinder and cylinder volume changed?

What code mask did those manual trans ecm's use, $0D?

So your saying the manual trans truck started out with 16156480, 16196396, 16171199, or 16156930, and then switched to the 16196395, and then finally all (manual and auto) switched to using the 7427?

What I find interesting is that the "Stall Saver Activation Thresholds" bit is not set, and the "TCC Only" bit is set.

    Yes they are both $OD.

But manual bit is set! May use something completly differant for Stall saver. Later when I find time..... been an issue lately.... I want to compare it to auto and see how many differences I can find to IAC logic, decel settings and such...

Manual bit is set so who knows what why TCC only is set, maybe over ride... who cares I got an $OD manual bin!

I could always set it identical to $OE manual bin that needs changes from 7.4L to 5.7L, this one needs to go from 4.3L to 5.7L. The other one is listed as 5.7L all trans and it may be best start with manual bit checked?
