    7747 ECM power test

If I wanted to just test whether my soldering of the ZIF socket is good before I hook this up to a vehicle. Could I just apply power and ground to the ECM and verify that I could actually connect to the ALDL?

I have a wiring harness and a battery charger for the power and ground. I also think I have successfully burned a chip for it. At least tuner pro gave me a successful indicator.

    Would I do any damage?

    thanks
    Brad

I would suggest adding a 10 Amp fuse for both battery and ignition power to the '7747. I would add a TPS and / or CTS sensors, so I could see data with the ALDL connected to a laptop with TunerPro RT connected.
