    Greeting From Fl

Hello from Florida, have looked around a little bit and looks like a great site for learning some tuning. My first project is a 93 LT1 installed in a 34 Ford roadster. The car was built by my father and myself back in 92 to 94 and has been on the road since. The last 4 or 5 years the car sat quite a bit as my dad fought cancer and had other cars to drive as well. I inherited the car last year and have spent quite a bit of time getting is back in running condition. The engine has had new fuel system except injectors, Opti, water pump, plugs, wires, coil, AC delco O2 sensors, filters, hoses ect. The car runs OK now it just gets terrible gas mileage about 15 mpg on the highway and smells rich. My next set is to install new fuel injectors and I have been looking at https://secure.fuelinjectorconnectio...-injector.html, plans for this summer include LE2 heads and cam upgrade. I know these will require a new tune to run properly which brings me here.

I have a OBD1 cable and used datamaster for generate a couple of log files, and have downloaded tunercats but have not gotten the definition file as yet.

    Couple of questions

Since this is a chip car should i get a chip eraser and programmer or one of the emulation chips like Ostrich?

Suggestions on best direction to go with software/hardware, my plan is to keep the car and my guess is additional modifications could be forth coming so I would prefer not to do mail order tuning, but might consider that as a start to get going.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help

If the computer was under the dash, I would use the Ostrich 2. I like to keep communication cables (USB / Ribbon) as short as possible to keep the data stream free of noise. I don't any have personal experience using the Ostrich 2 with long cables, might be OK? I would most likely use a Moates.net G1 adapter and a ZIF socket and swap chips. http://www.moates.net/g1-memory-adap...-etc-p-32.html & http://www.moates.net/s2-aries-28pin....html?cPath=26 The Moates.net Burn 2 is affordable and uses flash chips. http://www.moates.net/burn2-chip-pro....html?cPath=94 & http://www.moates.net/c2-sst-27sf512....html?cPath=26

I would use TunerPro RT: http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadApp.htm
TunerPro RT file are here: http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...mation-DA2-DA3
