    1993 Chev MPI 383

    Hey guys -

Thought I'd post this in here to solicit any help that I can get. What I have is a 1993 K1500 Chev that I put a 383 swap into. I had the 4L60e completely rebuilt and the motor is a 4 bolt main, 350 bored .060 over, KB dished 18cc pistons, aluminum heads 2.02 / 1.60 190cc runners with 64 cc chambers, Comp CL12-262-4 flat tappet cam (218/224), w/ Edelbrock MPFI 3505 kit w/ 19 lb / hr injectors, BBC TBI, w/ Hooker long tubes and a Magnaflow exhaust. I had CPE in Colorado write me an initial program per Edelbrock's recommendation but it looks like it's rich all over the place to start.

I am just getting started w/ TunerPro and trying to wrap my head around that. I believe I've got the proper files including:

    A217 $0D TP5 v251.adx
    Advanced $Od TP5 v251.xdf

And I've downloaded the .bin file that CPE created for me. Everything appears to be reading correctly in the logs and no errors are being thrown with everything going into closed loop. What I'm looking for is some general guidance from someone who's been down a similar road and doesn't mind sharing some pointers with a newbie. Thanks in advance and let me know if you've got any questions for me.

Have you seen my post on Wide Band O2 Tuning? http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...29-Spreadsheet

The tuning will work for $OD.

Thanks Dave...I'll start there. I ran a test run last night and have a log file saved so I'll look at this this tonight.

Dave - Any experience with the Innovate LC-2 as a wideband O2 controller?

Not the Innovate LC2. I've used the Innovate MTX-L. I like the AEM 30-4110, it's out of the box ready with 0v = 10 AFR & 5v = 20AFR. I don't know if AFR programming is needed for the LC1, the MTX-L needed to be re-programmed for 0v = 10 AFR & 5v = 20 AFR. I have an older laptop that has a 9 pin serial cable to re-program MTX-L, so it I did not need a Serial -to- USB adapter to re-program the MTX-L like newer laptops would need.

I was looking at the LC-2 for the 0-5v wide band output as well as the simulated 0-1v narrow band output to feed the ECM. I have access to USB to Serial adapters at work for configuration.

I did not have good results using the simulated narrow band output from the MTX-L. I now tune using both a Narrow Band O2 sensor and a Wide Band O2 sensor in the exhaust system.

Ever get it running right? Edelbrock referred me to CPE too but I have not ordered any programming yet.
