    new from sunny northern california

hello every one. im the new guy here and also to fuel injection. ive been working on my grandmas 82 gmc. swapping a tbi 350 into it with the stock 700r4 trans. i have done countless hours of research on this already. now i am turning here for guidance. i have found that most people are using the 1227477 ecu with this swap but the one that i got with the motor(out of a 95 suburban,) is actually PCM 16197427 and now i am lost. any and all help would be much appreciated and i look forward to learning MORE about FI.

    I like the 16197427!

I posted information on using a Wide Band O2 sensor for tuning the 16197427. http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...29-Spreadsheet

I do not know much about tuning a TBI motor. I did all the research I could on the 7477 ECU. I just realized yesterday that it was a PCM. Can I just switch back to a 7477 ECU and harness? It seems like quite a bit of work to get that PCM to wire into the truck that I am putting it in.

Use the 16197427 that came with the donor motor. It is actually a better ECU and is also well documented.

Where are you located? Calif. smog rules are strange to say the least, and I for one will be glad when I complete my move in May.

I live in Redding, ca. Its about 160 miles north of Sacramento. If I kept the pcm would I have to use a 4l60e trans with it?. I'm gonna be spending the next couple days doing more book/interweb studying on this newer pcm.

I live 124 miles north of redding, right on the oregon border. The answer to your question about a 700r4 in $0d is yes.

Fast355 posted an xdf for $0D with a 700R4 trans at this link.
