Need help with TunerPro and APU1

Ran the 5.7L Vortec (Gen1) on the engine run-in stand. Removed and reinstalled TunerPro V5.x. Loading TunerPro, it automatically pointed to the proper XDF and ADX files. Can't figure that one out. Encountering some weirdness. When displaying Dash via data acquisition, selecting record causes Dash to display RPM above actual at idle. Maybe the other gauges are reading weird also. Then when deselecting record, data acquisition deselects. Hit the two crossed arrows, goes back to displaying what appears appropriate values on the gauges. Was able to do some data tracing before, but NOT NOW. Don't understand why things deteriorate this much. Could it be EMI getting into the harnesses or APU1? The Laptop computer is in close proximity to the distributor of the engine. Fabbed a metal shield to put between the distributor and Laptop.

Also noticed when data recording in the stock 1995 Chev C1500 2wd pickup, that TunerPro exhibited the same weirdness about recording acquired data. Now does the same thing after have reloaded TunerPro used on the engine run-in stand. Really puzzled with this situation.

    Comments or suggestions invited. Thanks.

Still need help with TunerPro and APU1. Guess I could cough up the funds to purchase an Ostrich. Question is, what software is typically used for ALDL data capture when using an Ostrich for emulating. Can't get a recording of what the PCM is doing in order to pass it along. So that someone can try to get the binary file in better shape.
