I agree with your metaphore, I hate buying and selling to friends or people I interact with frequently, it feels like either you are losing or your ripping them off/getting ripped off, even though dealing with a complete stranger would be completely fine for the exact same exchange...

Anyway, if the deal doesn't go through, and this can also do the LT1 ECMs, let me know.

I just wanted to add some clairification, the 1995-1999 are not clumped together under a single $79.99 Vehicle Definition file. If there is a single Vortec 4.3/5.0/5.7/7.4 VDF included with this sale, it will either be for the 1996-97 trucks or the 1998-2000 4.3/5.0/5.7/7.4.

    From Tunercat site

    OBD2_07 1996 - 97 Vortec Trucks (4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, 7.4L)
    OBD2_06 1998 - 00 Vortec Trucks (4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, 7.4L)

    Good luck with sale.

    peace

Thanks for the clarification. This copy of TC comes with OBD2_06_01 through OBD2_06_04. I use it for 96-01 Vortec vans in our fleet. Apparently it will not cover the '96 - '97 C/K trucks.

Not sure why it wouldn't. My 1997 Express had the same PCM flash as a 1997 Suburban and some 1996 C1500s. BNHP/BNHR. Back in the day, I kept my stock PCM and reflashed a 96 or 97 4x4 Tahoe PCM to the BNHR after adjustingthe tune.

I often have to load / browse to a .cal file, save the loaded .cal file, exit RTOBD2 then reopen RTOBD2 to select the .cal file I want to edit from the drop down menu.

Using Win7 I was having a lot of crashes without any apparent cause or pattern. Tried everything and couldn't get it to be reliable enough to flash, crashed twice while flashing and got 2 corrupted PCMs (fixed them already but still a hassle).
Then I emailed both Moates and Tunercats about the issue, I was told the tuner program was not designed to run in Windows 7 or newer, I was advised to use a Virtual XP Machine to avoid crashes since it was a known issue and there was no ETA for a fix. I did it and haven't had a problem since.
