    $31 16197427 help...

Hello! I'm new here but not to tuning. I used to post of thirdgen about 15 years ago (holy crap I'm gettin old). I had small blocks in Astro vans. I read a lot of the threads and some familiar names popped up

Anyway I just bought a 95 K2500 7.4 / 4L80E truck. Needs some work. Main issue is the TCC won't lock at all with codes 68 and 83. I checked the usual things fuses and whatnot. I borrowed a Tech II from a friend and found the TCC works if I command it it. It just doesn't by itself. Brake switch status is good. ISS and OSS, TRS all look fine. I should note that the knock sensor is broken and the O2 isn't in (bung rusted away). I'm waiting on the mail for replacement parts.

I'm here asking "what gives" because if this were a 7747 a fella like RBob could say wether or not the missing inputs would case the TCC to flake out.

    Thanks for any advice

Just to follow up. Replacing the knock sensor fixed the TCC issue

If you haven't tried it already, try an $OE mask... IMO they start off a lot better running and shifting quality than the $31.

Interesting. Mine runs pretty good for all stock but I wouldn't be opposed to trying something else. Right now I'm using BMHM. Any particular $0E BCC you'd recommended using?

For what it's worth I use 6395/7427 both with $OE and $31 and have them both back to $OE. I can't put my finger on any one thing except to say the burb seems happier on $OE.
6395, BHDF, 7.4 BBC lightly modded now 6395 BMHM back to BHDF

I liked BHDH out of the ones I tried. I've been running it for a year or so.

Cool. Thanks fellas. Seems like a good place to start. I have a badazz 4bbl TBI a friend of mine made (CNC operator). It's got 4x 72# injectors in it. 2.4ohms if I remember. Ran great on EBL modded 7747. I want to use it on the truck eventually. Tips like this will get me closer to a solid tune before I start modding
