Ok well its official!!! Im onto the turbo build. i started tearing into the exhust routing this afternoon, plan to get most of the pipe finished off from the manifolds to the turbo tommorow.

One the tuning side, i ordered a 3 bar map sensor, which i plan to use with the $59 mask. I still need to read some more about the process but as of what i see and am told it will work with my ecu with little or no repinning. So as soon as i get the 3 bar map and do a little exhaust routing, Ill then begin to transfer some info from my $88 although im sure i can scrap most of that info from logging since it was on a N/A engine. I plan to run 7psi on the car, the internal wastegate is set at 7psi, and i dont plan on getting into rasing the boost till i know i can tune it well. Rather safe then sorry when it comes to boost.

We are having a discussion of 2 bar conversion and seems 2 bar is to much for 6 psi, so would handle 7 psi. 3 bar is going to only give you half use of table. From 0 to 50% load 2 bar would be 0 to 85% ish...

I don't know how much a stock bottom end can handle without forged pistons which are usually used in boosted engines. Then there's going to be a need for an oil cooler cause the turbo bearing will need lots of oil to cool it. Syntetic oil handles heat better without breaking down... just some things to think about.

Heres some pics mark(since its a tuning board, i didnt know if these pics were ok)... Keep in mind this is a little turbo for a little motor(fresh rebuild though since the turbo itself was free). Im baically doing the same set up as project89 did on thirdgen.org. So the exhaust routing is cheep and probly not the best but it will work for my first turbo. The turbospecs are t25 turbo, .49 comp .48 exh Its liquid cooled also, stock wastegate is set to 7psi, plan to turn it up alot once I know what im doing with tuning it. The turbo map says itll basically put up to 15psi(efficently) in my car displacement before it falls on its face...with it supporting about 260hp at that level. Keep in mind my car has 140hp stock and 160 mabey now with the cam and head work. It should be easily safe(with a good tune)in the lower end for 50-75or so extra hp, its all forged in there except the pistons.

Sorry the pics are bad, i spilled rad. fluid all over...opps. I just started doing some mock up of the exhaust today.

I already ordered a 3 bar map that will work on my car, I hope that will still work ok? I read some of that thread and will contine to! Some of its a little confusing..

Sure looks like that blue board is holding the car up... thats some strong stuff...

The 3 BAR MAP will work fine, especially with $59, with the extended tables.

In most cases the reduced reaolution won't be a problem or even noticed.

    $59 requires a 3 BAR MAP anyway.

Yea thats the main reason i got the 3 bar, since I read about how you need to have one for the $59 in most cases. I figured that was the best mask/bin to go with for the 7730

Any tips on which model of the $59 bin file to start with??? One that will at least start the car and such so that i can datalog and tune the bin for the turbo?? Im sure the values of spark and fueling are worthless on my $88 bin since the VE changed and I want alot less spark(that $59 mask has alot of stuff on it) Its CONFUSING!

    Thanks anyone!!
