How to test moates g2 adapter install

I installed a G2 adaptor and zif socket on my 1227747 ecu and put the stock chip back in to test the installation. The chip and ecu ran fine before I modified it but now I get a CEC light that doesn't flash and tuner pro can't ever connect with the ECU. Is there any obvious things to check in how I installed the adaptor? The only odd thing installing was I noticed a capacitor (maybe a diode) right next to the prom that had one leg cut. I soldered it back together even though the ecm ran fine with it the original way. Now I'm unable to even read the chip in a moates APU1. I can accept the fact I might have bricked the chip, but want to make sure the ECM hardware is actually connected correctly.Any advice?

Check orientation. Match your installation to this picture:

What chip are you using with the G2? Is it correct for the application?

If you check continuity most of the pins will be straight through with the following exceptions:
Pins 1, 2, and 27 on the chip side should be open.
Pin 28 of the chip side should connect to pin 24 on the ecm side.
Pin 20 on the chip side should connect to pin 20 on the ecm side.
Pin 22 on the chip side should connect to pin 18 on the ecm side.

    Good luck.

I did find one trace that looks broken, but I can see it with the G2 in the way. I did a continuity check on another ecm and it confirms the trace is broken. I'll try jumpering a wire and see if that fixes me. Thanks for the reply!

Turns out that fixed it. I soldered a new jumper wire in place of the broken trace and I'm up and running on both the stock PROM and a new chip I copied the stock bin to.
