Looking for a Stock 5.3 Liter / Manual Trans Flash / OS 12212156 .cal .ctz, or .bin

I might be asking for a flash that does not exist? It appears manual trans were only available with the 4.8 and 6.0 liter engines?

Maybe someone has a VIN # from a vehicle with the 5.3 / manual trans that I can then purchase a flash for.

    Thanks in advance,
    dave w

That file seems really strange. I thought all manual VSS setups were 19 pulse not 40. Plus it shows air flow in the P/N tables. Most true manual tunes do not have any data in the P/N tables for airflow. I really think its a segment swap.

I looked through the repository at HPTuners and only came across 3 files that were 5.3 with a manual trans. The only one listed as stock was a 2006 Avalanche with 1252075 OS. You might have to use something with a segment swap if you need the factory manual trans stuff.

I helped out with transplanting a 5.3 into a 67 C10 / with a 3 on the tree manual trans. Currently, the 5.3 experiences an occasional stall during DFCO. The C10 has the brake switch input wired to the PCM and a Dakota Digital 8K VSS, with the appropriate changes to the flash. The easy solution would be to flash a modified original 5.3 / manual file into the PCM. Looks like the flash solution is not going to be easy.

I agree, the flash linked above appears to be a modified .bin file.

The decel stall could be a combo of air and timing. Idle and low RPM timing control is setup pretty different from auto to manual. TO get you going, I would take a 5.7 manual setup and modify for 5.3. I know the cams are different but the early LS1 will be much closer than running the auto tune.

    From an Autotrader search
    Maybe:
    1GCEK14V32Z186112
    1GCEK14V72Z159429
    1GCEK14T02Z183263

I think one of these is a 4.8 / Manual, don't remember which one.

Awesome Thank you very much for helping out.

    Both files are OS12212156.

Now, I have a decision to make ... Edit the 5.3 to a manual trans, or edit the 4.8 to a 5.3 liter.

I'm open to ideas / thoughts / recommendations.

Edit the 4.8 to 5.3 and scale the idle airflows. Use the 5.3 VE. Use what ever timing you like. Keep all the parts associated with the manual. Leave the throttle cracker and follower alone. Do not do an engine segment swap or you will write over the important manual parts.

Thanks for the input. You confirmed what I had been thinking about a segment swap.

Would you be willing to share your bin file?
