I'm working on compiling a distributable x64 linux binary. I'll probably test it in some vms with different distros. It will have it's own lib folder that contains the required qt libraries until 5.6 is included in more distributions by default.

I'll probably have to also include the specific c++ library that it is compiled against to ensure that it works on different systems, but that shouldn't be an issue because $EEHack is open source.

I was thinking about that, but was going to try to avoid doing a static build of all of qt, which I'll have to build from source. I'll give it a shot this evening and see how it goes

I finally figured what`s wrong with the blm mode 4.
When you command open loop from mode4, only INT and CORR are defaulted to $80.
So you get Open Loop but BLMs are still active and trimming.
When mode 4 BLM update disable is set, BLMs are frozen at the last state but are still trimming.
The only chance is to manual reset BLM and than froze them.
When that is done you can set AFR target.

AFR is always loaded it doesn`t matter closed or open.
Try setting open loop after reset and it should work.

another beta, compiled against recently released QT5.6 library (which has fixes for high resolution screens...) also threw a 64 bit build in too. if you had the 32 bit one installed, you should uninstall it before continuing, so you don't end up with two versions.

    I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

I downloaded Qt5.6 and am just having problem after problem trying to compile steveo's source code. first I didn't have the Qt SDK so I had to get that, then I didn't have Qt SerialPort so I had to get that, now it's saying one of the #include for QWidget is causing the AboutWindow.cpp to fail. I'm about done with this whole linux thing and am gonna beg borrow or steal a windows laptop because its just so damn much easier. But if you are able to figure out an easier way for me to install the linux version, I'd be super appreciative.

qtserialport comes with QT, so somethings amiss somewhere in the steps you're taking to build. when you installed qt5.6, where did it install? what was the path to it?

I tried the latest beta on XP SP3. It did read ok but when I try to flash it failed 2 consecutive times.
Also second time I applied e-side only and insert patch and it attempt to flash tside again.
I make some log at the end it might have some valuable info.

    that's a nasty log,

why is the echo test failing? rx/tx is tied together, there should always be a clean echo. i dont know what manufacturer "Communications Port MFR" is, but sounds sketchy. what driver is it using?

about it flashing the t-side when you only have e-side selected, it'll force both sides if your currently running patch version is lower than the current one (to ensure both sides are synchronized in patch version), i can only assume that's what happened.

as mentioned above, i might actually drop windows xp support.

even though it might be inconvenient, modern compilers and libraries have very poor support for it, and i'd like to keep current.

i already have to do a bunch of weird crap with compiler flags just to make it run on xp. i've tested it on my xp laptop and it's not behaving well either.

Tested it this morning and the behavior is as expected. the afr follows the target pretty closely and goes back when override is unselected. so now it works, at least for me.
