    dash board data is incorrect

its probably going to be obvious that i'm new to tunerproRT.....

i'm playing with a 89 astro with 350 truck motor, manual trans ECU 747
    ASDU-$42-5.7-manual.bin
    $42-1227747-v5.9.3.xdf
    $42-1227747-v3t.adx

vehicle starts, idles, and drives down the street(35mph extremely light cruise)

Issue--All the dash board data is way wrong, idle rpms at 5100, TPS is pegged at 100%, those are some examples but all data is wrong.

i have read quite a bit, i'm not sure which way i should have the switch closest to the plug on the apu1? 10k mode or not, i did switch it in both positions and data is the same regardless.
this ecu seems to be for a auto trans but i definitely have a stick shift. ( so do i have a wrong file?)
i can come up with a hundred more details but unsure of which are necessary. Thanks for any help!!

At the top on the toolbar there are tow arrows pointing in opposite directions , this sets the APU1 to aquire data . Did you click this ?

    Tom,

Yes sir i did push that button i'll list a walk thru of my steps.......
    opened tunerproRT
    loaded .bin, .xdf, .adx files
then i clicked "initialize emulation hardwear" followed by enable /disable function (chip looking button)
    Started the Van
and the hit the opposite arrow button (aquire data enable/disable) the yellow da light at the bottom of the screen turns blue and states "Connected" like wise the emulation button lights up green and states "emulating"

Are you sure it's a '7747 in that vehicle? I was pretty sure the '7747 was only in full size trucks.

Are you actually emulating (ribbon cable attached to the PROM socet) when this problem occurs? If not, that might be part of the problem.

Try just using passthrough mode of the APU1, with a stock PROM and see what the numbers are. You may be in limp home mode, that IIRC with the '7747 will send garbage data through the ALDL, as opposed to later ECMs that just send nothing at all.

You can find information about the APU1 switch settings on moates.net.

some vehicle back ground.....this is a 89 astro van that was purchased new by my friends grandfather, 2 years after purchased "grandpa" put this v8 in it, added msd 6al.
the number on the ecu is '7747 i have not a clue if it is the ecu that ran the v6 motor.

i am connected with the ribbon cable and emulating at the same.
i will try your recommendation and post back later. Thanks

so the tag on the ecu is

    1227747 ASDU
    86ASDU K391980496

i burned a chip with with Asdu9567 42.bin and used the other files stated above when turner pro was opened
with the auto prom switches set to open and apu1 mode, just data logging, i actually get real data, so it seems the problem is only there when i'm emulating at the same time as data logging. i supposed to beable to do both at the same time?right?
the vehicle i'm playing with is a 89 astro the motor in the van is definitely from 1991 Chevy C-1500 5.7L V8 Auto trans but the van has a manual trans i would be guessing but i would think the wiring harness came with the motor and ecu.
Thanks guys!!! seems i'm moving in a forward direction.

Have you disabled checksum while emulating?

How about uploading a bin to the AutoProm, and then looking at the data without making any changes?

so i was NOT disabling checksum but i tried it, i went to scalars--maskID--set value to AA---save---enable emulation --start van--enable Data---and data is garbage it states things like 204mph 5100rpms some gauges are frozen.

i haven't made any changes to any thing when i first started this thing, first thing i look at was to see if data was clean and correct , i'm assuming you mean load a bin file, emulate, start car, check data, is it garbage? and the answer is yes, if i'm emulating the data is bad. hope that helps, i need a teleporting machine and i would just invite you guys over i'm sure if you were here you'd have it in ten minutes..thanks again
