The case of the missing pictures

I am using my iMac G3 running 10.4.11 using Safari 4.1.3. This is an old computer, but newer than my car.

When I upload pictures from my iMac and place them on the gearhead-efi server, I see the pictures fine in my posts but other users do not.

When put the pictures on flickr, I and other users see the pictures fine.

I suspect a permission problem on the server.

    A flickr picture.
click on icon of tree in advanced, click on url tab, paste url of flickr png, and uncheck load on server. This works. In my next post, I'll try something else.

Here is what I see when I am not logged into gearhead-efi. I cranked up my iCab web browser. As seen in the iCab web browser.

    Here is the uploaded filename.
    file:///Users/mac/Desktop/icab view.png

Here is the flickr link. Notice flickr rename/reformated.

Here is what I get when I click on the jpg.

Hence my comments about a permission problem.

I click and it expands as it should.

Some free picture sites block remote linking to other sites. This site has no blockage as it is meant to be a place for stuff to share.

That is saying you are not logged in on that device. If you were logged in you shouls see picture.

Pictures are available here if put in as a link, that link would also work if you posted it on another site because we have no blogage to remote sites. But to download pictures or files from here you must be logged in.

    Does that help?

png and gif and jpg and jpeg are all allowed here. Looks like flcker is converting your png to a jpeg. Why I don't know, both are internet image types with good optimzation for low file size. Now bmp is not an internet image type although you could use it. It is a file for printing and size is huge compared to png or jpg.
