    First data log - 1994 lt1 - EE$

    Hey Guys,

I've finally got my car back together and running (1994 impala ss). I've owned it for 18 years, it was once my daily driver but I took it off the road about 7 years ago.
I completely gutted the interior (have pics if anyone is interested), to properly patch a few minor holes in the floor\firewall. While i was in there i rewired everything so i could run a car PC, nintendo wii, rasberry pie, multiple monitors, xbmc\kodi....etc.... blah blah.

ok so now ive made my aldl usb cable, configured tunerpro RT, and am able to connect to my PCM.

Attached is my first data log, from a tuner noob perspective , everything looks good. Any experts out there able to highlight what exactly i should be looking for?

IT was only a parked log capture as i am still waiting on tires.

    Thanks in advance.
    Mike

PS ..... special thanks to SteveO and Mark the eagle........ I have read many writes ups from both of you and even received replies to some of my questions.

Is there anything specific you're looking for? Have you modified the engine so it requires tuning?

As a first check open the data lists and change the drop-down to engine MALF codes and see if you're getting any codes.

Hey Lionel, no real engine modifications (yet) other than cold air intake, throttle body bypass ( http://shbox.com/1/tb_bypass.jpg ) and catback exhaust.

In regards to what i'm looking for, I'm not sure what i should be looking for ...... im guessing i should start with the A/F ratio?, am i running rich or lean? spark advance? BLM?

No engine light, and i do not see any codes.

    Thanks for your reply.

Correction, i do see one code \ error

    23 MAT Low

I think this is the corresponding definition :

DTC 23 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Circuit ( Voltage High, Low Temp)

    CODE 23
Trouble Code 23 indicates that the Manifold Air Temperature (MAT) sensor or Intake Air Temperature (IAT) is reading lower than expected. When the air is cold, the thermistor has a high resistance, which falls as the air charge warms. Low readings thus indicate possible open circuits in MAT circuit.
    Code 23 will set if:
    ? MAT reading is < -31 deg F (-35 deg C)
? Time since engine start is 4 minutes or longer.
? Vehicle speed less than 1 mph
    ? Start-up coolant temperature is less than or equal to -35.5 C (31.9 F).
? All conditions met for 10 sec.

Typical causes for this code include:
    1. Defective MAT or IAT sensor
    2. Open sensor ground circuit
    3. Dirty or corroded connection(s) at MAT/IAT and/or ECM
    4. Open circuit between the ECM and the MAT/IAT sensor
    5. Defective ECM
