    TBI to CSFI?

    I have a 1993 S10 2.8 TBI that I'm swapping a 2000 Vortec 350 CSFI into.

    I have both harnesses.

Can I wire things like my ignition, Gauges, headlights, tailights to the 2000 Harness?

Can I use my stock TBI Fuel pump?

Basically is it even possible or am I gonna have to throw a carb on it?

I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks

If you have the 2000 vortec CSFI ECM, then it should be fairly easy, the stock TBI pump won't put out enough pressure though.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

    I do have the ecm.

So all I would need is a fuel pump that puts out more pressure?

Do you think it would be worth changing the pump and keeping the CSFI?

    Thanks.

The CSFI is JUNK! Have had nothing but problems with mine and converted it to a marine intake with real injectors on the outside of the intake.

Well that's good to know. I am trying to do this by spending the least amount of money possible. So I'm trying to work with what I have.

    Thanks for your input.

what transmission are you running behind this? I converted my CSFI 350 to TBI because of the reason Fast355 mentioned and it wouldn't support the demands of my engine mods. If your 93 is already setup for TBI this may be an easier conversion.

I don't like them either. But fwiw statistically they have done fairly well in our fleet and we've got several of these systems running with 300k to 350k miles on them. Problems occur in our fleet with chafing in the wiring harness and pitting corrosion and the ends of the manifold these days. Several years ago we had to replace all the intake gaskets as the silicone end seals cracked from Death-Cool. Fel-pro makes a good gasket that solves this problem.

Now if you're planning to make any decent power upgrades skip CSFI and go for a different manifold.

Now if you want to talk F*rd 6.0 Diesels, well, those are pure gahbage.

Well the guy I bought the wrecked donor truck from said the motor was rebuilt with 25,000 on it. Odometer was 225,000. When I checked it out she was running great and all fluid levels were good. So I think I'm alright as far as reliability for now.

And as far as power, its gonna be in an S10, and this is my first swap, so it'll be plenty for me!

The part I'm stuck at is should I keep my TBI Fuel pump and converted the motor to TBI?

Or keep the CSFI on the motor and change the fuel pump for CSFI?

    Or just carb it?

    Which would be cheapest?

    Thanks. This site is awesome
