Hi ladies and gentlemen I am Mark, a 37 years old vehicle electrical installation engineer working with mainly car audio security, retrofit of multimedia systems along with such things as parking aids, stolen vehicle and fleet management tracking systems on everything from bikes, cars, trucks and even some boats in there too. I like my electronics, my step father is a electrical design, test and installation engineer specialising in interview systems and I guess I kind of follow in his foot steps as in I am interested and want to learn but at an early age I found my career life starting in nursing (another story).

I use a Rubiks cube as a way of learning and also anxiety control strangely sometimes, I just decided when a friend failed to learn the
basic method unaided that I would learn. I struggled for a long time to even follow direct patterns due to incorrectly orientating a side or mixing a step of an algorithm and I think I found it harder as I also have a little dyslexia when I am tired. Eventually I learned and with muscle memory and more understanding I managed to get a time of just under 3 minutes from 5, albeit with the help of a speed cube. Have changed now from the beginners method and am now learning F2L which is a faster method requiring new algorithms but so worth it. I now reside at sub 2 minutes and have started learning longer algorithms to decrease my time. Kinda got hooked lol.

My reason I am now here is as a person who has always done my own work on my own cars, helped others and learned where possible I suddenly had a misfortune while working and found myself unable to work for a while. as luck would have it though this has only given me more ideas of other things I have never had the time to learn.

I bought a car, the first I had owned for 16 years as I had always used and driven a company works vehicle.

This is the crunch... I own a '99 vw golf gti 1.8 turbo (agu engine block), 06A906018R - 0 261 204 673 - Bosch M3.8.3 and in my investigations I learn this is flash able but is not readable having the am29f200ab eeprom. Now I have had all sorts of issues with this car but I also knew it had a past and had been rather abused. I have worked and basically replaced all bushes, mounts and suspension along with many pipes and the usual things a car should have when you have no idea of its condition without breaking it down and inspecting it all. The car is now at a point it has served me well as have I done to her and from my reading of boost she's got to have a map on it I think as its smooth and running lovely now at last. I am a newbie member on Nefarious motorsports, who I have say have proved to be a wonderfully clever bunch of guys willing to share so much like myself. I started looking at ols files and bins and watching videos, reading manuals and hunting information and before you know it I am into learning bits of hex and more files than I can shake a stick at.

I now want to learn to map for myself, I have been told mine in particular is hard to obtain info so I find myself here learning what I can to enable me to understand better the huge gaps in my knowledge and solve the puzzles inside my tiny mind lol.

If anyone knows anyone or anything relating specifically to my car and its ecu, ecm (I have not yet looked), then please let me know.

likewise if anyone is on this path also and wants some info and I have It, it is all public domain information and I shall gladly point you where I can to the best of my ability.

Hope this proves I am not a bot, surely even they wouldn't go on for this long

Best wishes all.
