    BCC BNKM

I'm on holidays and stop in to yards to see what they have for ecm's. I look for 95 chev 2500 7.4. Yard told me the had one so I picked it up. Turns out to have code BNKM. All I can fine on the net is that is a 350/4l80e bin. Has anyone ever seen that code with a 7.4?

No, that's a 5.7 only BCC. A 454 should run with it, but not as well as it could. The yard was mistaken, but a 350/4L80 memcal is probably harder to find than a 454 version.

Thanks, I have a 50 pickup with a 396 that I would like to convert to efi/4l80e some day so might save it for that.

Brian, I had that MEMCAL in my desk and an HDR1 that I haven't had a need for yet, so I pulled them out and did a read. I believe I did it correctly, take a look.

When I get home I will look at the bin. Interesting I phoned back to the yard and asked about it. He said he didn't know about the letters but what he knew was that truck had a 454.

It's not unheard of for a truck to have the wrong chip in it and actually run well enough for it to not be noticed, especially since it had the right trans stuff. That might have been why it was in the junkyard, though.

I believe you had a misread on the memcal. Every bin I have dealt with for these PCMs has been 64k in size.

Thanks, I didn't bother to check the size. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, though. No matter which chip I select, it only reads 32k. Do I need to manually change the addressing? Never mind, I just figured it out myself. I didn't realize that I needed to change the buffer addressing, I had assumed it changed along with the chip addressing. This one "should" be better.

I got to check the memcal and it is infact a 350/80e. Kind of ticks you when people knowingly scam you. Anyhow I will try and attach the bin for whoever wanted it.
