O2 sensors - interchangeable ?

Have a question on another forum...the question is whether the O2 sensors are interchangeable..ie 4 wire square to 4 wire flat. Are the innards the same on single, triple and four wire O2 sensors so they can be spliced into the correct connector.

Yes but the wiring is different due to how the ground is applied.
