Holley HP on 514" BB Ford and 250 shot on top......

Got a call from one of my customers about a 514" Ford engine he was thinking about. We went back and forth a few times on air flow needed and the best way to go. Finally we decided on a Holley HP ECM and twin throttle bodies.

I'll let the pictures and video explain the rest.

Crickets...... What do you guys think?

On the TBI note, I tuned a pretty hopped up 305 today. I'll get the engine specs and video up in another thread.

There is no replacement for displacement. Looks and sounds like a beast.

The owner is getting more comfortable with it..... These are both in high range 2nd or 3rd gear.

    Dunes 1

    Dunes 2

No N2O yet. He wants to find the end of the new engine first.

I've been involved with similar projects, as the "Laptop Guy" and / or the "Wire Harness Guy". It's very cool to see the work that goes in to a project work out so well! Thanks for sharing to video's.

Here is the second place rig running a TBI 454. Had to bump fuel pressure and match injectors for this one. Its at the end of the air flow for the BB TBI unit though. I had to run the rig open loop all weekend do to no matter what I did it wanted to revert to async in closed loop. AGH..... Fixed now though.

Here is 3rd place. He is running a 406 stroker motor and a Holley HP setup. I had no clue I would tune this one. He got in to camp and it just sounded horrible. He was referred over and we talked. He thought it ran pretty good.... :P So I started to work on it. It had all kinds of problems. In the end 2 sensors were bad and no replacement in sight. The wide band for the system and the intake are temp. CRAP.... So I built a fuel table real quick based off a air flow calculator I made in excel. I would have wideband tuned with one of mine but by the time I was able to get to it... they were shutting down running for the night. Lets just say I got it close. Close enough to where he said its never run that good. Close enough to where it floated the valves for the first time in its life and bent 4 pushrods....... LOL That happened because I set the rev limit where he wanted.

Click for video. I suggest you turn it up. His wife filmed it and knew what was coming... LOL
