Tuning the 350 can be done with software from TunerPro RT: http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadApp.htm and hardware from Moates.net: https://www.moates.net/gm-19851995-c-64.html

The LS 6.0 is a nice upgrade that sometimes requires more budget than rebuilding the 350. It's possible the 1991 4L80E will need to upgraded (maybe 1999 and up 4L80E) to work with the LS 6.0 computer?

OBD1 tuning equipment is less expensive than OBD2 tuning equipment.

A naturally aspirated LS 6.0L will never have the off-idle, low and midrange torque of a well executed 383 TBI with Vortec heads and a mild roller cam.

im gonna be shooting for low end torque, pulling trailers around and pushing a 9 foot v plow. also want it to be as reliable as possible too.
more than likely ill stay with the tbi and not do the 6.0 just because there more a high revving peakier motor

Either build a 383 with a mild roller cam and keep the TBI or switch to TPI. Either would give a grunt monster for your goals. The 6.0 will not even start to pull well until it is over 3,000 rpm. The other option would be find a L19 454 TBI and build up a little to swap in place of your 350. Cubes are the absolute cheapest way to build low-end torque.

i know the 454 would be the best bet for low end torque and hp but the 350 is bad enough for gas mileage in the winter plowing. 4 mpg otherwise its a solid 10 loaded or 12 unloaded

would like to shoot for around 400+ ft lbs out of the 383 looks like its within reason since the zz383 is at 425 hp and 449 ft lbs.
