??? about offsets using MiniPro TL866CS

I'm having trouble getting a good burn using the TL866 programer. It appears to burn the bin ok, but when I put it in the ECM (747) I get a rapidly flashing SES. I'm using Tunerpro v5 with $42-1227747-V5.2.adx and $42-1227747-V5.9.3.xdf
Any help that anyone can offer on this would be appreciated.

Thanks for the link, I've tried that without any success. That must be for the Burn2 programmer that Moates sells.

Are you using TunerPro to burn the chip? Are you burning a 2732 or something else? You might be better off using whatever software comes with the TL866. When I use my G540 and it's software, all I have to do is select the chip type and it takes care of the rest when I burn a 2732A.

With the MiniPro 866tls, open the MoniPro programming software, click File, Open. Select your bin, the File Load Options tab should appear. The line that says " To Buffer Start Address is where you insert the offset address. On the 4k bins such as the 7747, click the box. count 3 spaces from the left most "0" and insert an 'F'. I believe that is how I did it. I'll double check here in a bit but try that and see.

I'm trying to burn a 4k bin on a AT29C256 chip. I even used the TP bin stacker and made a 256k bin and didn't have any luck with that.

Also, make sure you insert the chip into the holder in the right orientation, with the little notch facing the limp mode chip(smaller chip straight across from the PROM).

Thanks for your help. Yes I have the chip orientation correct. I read on another post of yours something about the box Clear buffer when loading has 3 options default, 0x00 or 0xFF

Additionally, I would start with the ASDU bin. Its a better starting point and with a little smoothing of the fuel and spark tables makes a noticeable difference on the butt dyno.

Try the method I discribed leaving everything else as is, only changing the buffer start address to 00F000.

I tried that and get the error message "Start address out of memory size"

Ok, looks like im gonna have to break out the hardware and see. Im not using the 29c256 tho I am using the 27SF512 but on Moates' site it states both have the same offset. Ill make sure what I told you is accurate right now cuz it's buggin me now.

Take a stab at changing the start buffer to 007000.
