I agree there are a lot of ways to skin this cat, as it is a fairly simple application. But reliability, availability, and standardization are key when more than one is being assembled for remote fleet application. Carburetors have worked for years, but with the new generation of people not understanding how chokes, accelerator pumps, and high idle kickdowns work, simple pushbutton start/run/drive is becoming necessary. If I had any one signature line it would be "fuel injection has ruined an entire generation of humans".

If I may sir, "fuel injection has further ruined an entire generation of fools" (just my opinion) That being said... I am interested in how the tug would work. What distributor could be used to trigger such a beast?

    Ford distributors

Anybody know what the interchangeability of the ford 4.9 distributor over the years is? Did the cam gear and oil pump change at all?
