    Clueless in Houston

    Howdy Folks!

I stumbled on this site while trying to figure out the issues with my 1995 OBD1 G30 Work Van.

I was unable to find anybody local who could figure out the stalling/surging/cutting on-off issue. It didn't act up a lot, but if it was run long enough would always act up.

So, I decided to obtain my own PCM Scan setup.

I ended up deciding on a Bluetooth OBD1 Reader from Red Devil River linked to ALDLDroid from the Playstore.

That turned out to be an entire other thing to figure out.

Eventually, I was (mostly) able to get it fixed, but still have a few PCM issues I'm hoping to get help figuring out.

I eventually replaced the PCM with one from a junkyard, as well as replacing the MAP Sensor (not from a junkyard!).

That cured the major issue, but I STILL have a Code 33 and a Code 34. Those are MAP Sensor Low and High. And a Code 32 too, but that's expected because one of the troubleshooting steps I utilized was to block the EGR off (as opposed to just replacing it), so as to not waste $50 'testing' (permanently) a replacement one. It also eliminated whether or not it might could be the EGR Solenoid (also ~$50).

It's still kind of a mystery as to what the actual problem was. Certainly the PCM replacement has been a final cure, but it seemed to be in connection with either the EGR blockoff, or the MAP Sensor swap. Not sure which.

    Any input?

Also, I'm really hoping to find a well figured out $218 .alx file for my 16197427 PCM (with a 4L60E). The one I have does read the PCM, but it's jumbled up with both Fahrenheit and Celsius labeled differently and I'm not confident that I'm actually accessing ALL the PID's(? Right?) that might should be available from the PCM.

    Any help with that?

    Thanks,

    -Kyle Peterson

random codes, ecm died, still get weird voltage codes?

i'd be making sure your alternator isn't sending out crazy spikey power, and check all your grounds.
