    Transmission issues

I need help/advice. I have 93 chevy that somewhere down the line someone swapped 4.3 for 5.7. It had 700r4. It stopped shifting so I changed it for 4L60. Same prob. Stays in first and 2. The harness and computer were supposedly changed.???

Just to clarify, a '93 should have come from the factory with a 4L60E. So the 4.3/4L60E got swapped for a 5.7/700R4? Did you change the 700r4 for a 4L60 or a 4L60E? Did you have a shop swap the transmission, harness and computer? The original 4.3/4L60E harness should have worked to just swap to a 5.7, but downgrading to a 700R4 would have required a custom chip and wiring changes or swapping to the '92 and earlier computer and harness. Have you verified that both the VSS(tailshaft on drivers side) and main transmission connectors(passenger side of transmission) are actually connected to the transmission? Is this a car or truck?

93 had the option for 700r4 or 4l60e.

This is a truck. The harness has the round plug on passenger side. I had a 4L60E on hand so I just took the black switch off shifter since I didn't have the plugs for it. The truck didn't have the plug for the 700r4 just the cable kick down.

Have you tried to pull any codes? Also, double check to ensure that your memcal (chip) has the right tune (bcc) for a 5.7/4L60E combo.
