If you really want an accurate start, you may want to consider contacting one of the vendors here and paying for a tune. Many people do this to get started and have the individuals that did the tune, walk them through how to datalog and fine tune the chip.

I contacted tbi chips and was told that my setup was too powerful for TBI that I should stay with a carb...
Im bummed out I have everything ready to go. Does anyone have any advise for me? What are the tuning limits of a 454 tbi? Thanks

he's wrong, and not a very good tuner either. there are lots of people that could tune it for you, and there's no real 'limit' to how large of an engine you can fit a TBI setup to.

Second on TBI not being able to handle it. I have and old holley dual TBI on a tunnel ram that i have been told will support 750 plus HP. the throttle bodies are just like the GM 2bbl units so he's in the dark.
