The large cap HEI w/ 7 pin have a second notch for extra 3 wires to connect from engine harness. Notch is visible between 2:00 and 3:00 position in the photo. Neat idea moving the pickup coil connection outside the dizzy but I'd use old ABS twisted pair wiring to reduce interference from outside sources.

Your exactly correct, I thought you were talking the other EST which would be way more work than parts available like the one you posted.
