Need help getting started vortec tbi

    Hi,
I'm new to the forum and need some help starting the tuning process of my 93 chevy pickup.
I have just about wrapped up putting vortec heads with gmpp conversion intake and need.
I have the Moates apu1 system and tuner pro rt.
Please let me know what specs will help.
I am new to tuning, but am not new to my truck.
I understand I will need a new spark table before I start up.
    Thank you all in advance

I posted the 1998 Vortec timing table here: http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...-Throttle-ONLY!

Vortec heads need 25% or more AE.

    Thanks Dave,
I put in a larger fuel pump and bumped the psi to 18.
Am I correct in needing to compensate for that right off the bat?
Know of any good start up guides?

I use factory fuel pressures to start with. Ultimately you might need 18 PSI, maybe / maybe not?

On start up, I strongly recommend having TunerPro RT monitoring the engine when it begins running! Quite often, I use my Moates.net Ostrich 2.0 emulator to make instantaneous changes to the .bin file depending on what I see with TunerPro RT when the engine is breaking in.

My 93 K1500 has a similar engine. I have TBI heads, Modified TBI Intake, 454 Throttle Body, 65 lb injectors (cop car), stock fuel pressure, shorty headers, single wire O2 sensor, 3" single exhaust with a 3" catalytic converter. I pass Washington State Emissions. I programmed my own PROM chip ... the ULTIMATE TBI MODIFICATION!

I can't remember what the connector on the back passenger side of engine is, it is a longer two wire black and blue connector with blue and purple wires

    Do you have cam specs?

Yeah its an old Engine pro part # MC-1044
It took some time to find the specs:

Gross lift .410 intake .427 exhaust
    Duration at .050 207 intake 214 exhaust
    Centerline 117
LSA 112? (I would have to call and verify it)

Intake opens 14 degrees btdc and closes 41 after bottom
Exhaust opens 43 btdc and closes at 9 degrees after

I meant to post specs earlier, but was working from my phone until now.
    93 Chevy pickup
    357 engine fresh rebuilt
    2wd short bed/ short cab
    Rebuilt 4l60e transmission
    Electric fans with thermostatic controller
    Overbored throttle body
Vortec heads with gmpp intake and egr piped
Vortec fuel pump, 18 psi spring on stock injectors
    MSD 8.5 mm wires

I didn't write the computer number down, the little time I had to work on the truck today, I chased starting issues (dead battery).

I have chewed the long to do list down to setting the distributor and the computer.

I remember reading a good start up guide for first time walk through on a forum (third gen if I remember right) and I will re post the link so I can help any one in similar circumstances.

Please let me know if there is any way I can contribute back

That is the same PCM that is in my 93 K1500.

.adx is for data logging. This is used to monitor the engine when it's running.

.xdf is for editing the .bin file (PROM PROGRAMMING). This is used to change timing, choke, fuel, AE, PE and dozens of other parameters. Reprogramming the .bin file is the ULTIMATE TBI MOD! Reprogramming the .bin file is 100% necessary to get the best possible performance for bolt on engine modifications (vortec heads, aftermarket camshaft, aftermarket intake system, aftermarket exhausts systems, more fuel pressure, and larger throttle bodies). Reprogramming the .bin file is like changing carburetor jets, distributor weights, and distributor vacuum advance.

I pulled the ecm today and couldn't make sense of it, does anyone have installation pictures? What I assume is my g1 adapter does not look like what is in the installation procedure
All mechanical work is done as of today unless the diagnostic system says otherwise, the computer is the only thing holding me up from running the truck.
    Please help!!!
