    Mpi with 16196395

I have a 94 suburban with a stock 454. For several years I have been running it on megasquirt with the injector grounds connected through a switch to both the megasquirt and the gm PCM and could switch between them and all worked good. Nice to have a back up. Now a new 489 motor going in and a switch to multi port. Megasquirt won't be a problem but I still would like to have the gm as a back up as it will still have to be in place to run the 4l80e. My PCM is 16196395 with BHDF. I have played with tunercat and have an idea of how the tuning works. I have searched and think the answer to the following question is yes but thought I would check. Will the 395 hardware do the job without any soldering or internal hardware changes.
    thanks

that's crazy it was so simple to switch them? I'm suprised that reference voltage from both ecms to stuff like the o2 sensors wouldn't cause hell.. really cool.

I'm not sure the injector drivers from that ecm are up to the long term task of 4 injectors per driver instead of one.. but someone else would know better.

In initial post I should have said tunerpro rather than tunercat. In ref to dual system I run the gm system off the factory nb and the megasquirt off a WB and also used that for data logging. I can run both systems at the same time and data log most of what the gm is doing via megasquirt data logging. Some pitfalls are know what is powering the injectors or you could end up flooding the engine.

It's been almost 2 years (mileage unknown) since I set up a factory BBC Vortec intake system using a 16196395 PCM in MPFI mode. It's a good system (cost vs. performance), works well with the factory BBC Vortec injectors, handles the duties of a 4L80E, real time WBO2 data can be streamed into the data log. Having two fuel tables / two spark tables (near idle / off idle) is awesome for tuning an aftermarket camshaft!

It's not that simple. The MPFI conversion .zip file is in post #6 http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...Information-0D

How about this MPI system that Lingenfelter used on that 605 cubic inch Suburban?

    Hi Dave,
Just a quick note to all on this intake. If you add a TWO Inch spacer between the lower and upper intake half, it has a significant power increase. The reason I know is the Head Big Block Engine calibrator told me this when I was selecting my big block intake/system for my truck. This intake was selected because it fit in the G-Van. I bought a Az Spd and Marine intake, which was the first Alum Marine intake for the big block. A one inch spacer adds power on this intake.
