Hi from Red Deer, AB, Canada

Newbie here with kind of an unusual setup compared to most on here :)

1973 Triumph TR6 with GM TBI conversion using 16144288. 2.5L in-line 6 with Goodparts GP2 cam and 1:1.65 rockers and compression increased to ~10:1. The TBI works much better than the old ZS carbs :) Currently running with no VSS (mechanical speedo from the Triumph mated to a Toyota W58 5-speed trans) or knock sensor (ignored as didn't know if it would detect knock correctly on a non-GM engine).

Looking for advice/info on including these items along with adding electric fan support if possible.

And as always, a better tune :)

    Dave

Welcome! That sounds like a nice project! I have a GT6+ that I've been thinking about putting TBI on someday. Do you have any pictures of your setup? What are you using for an intake manifold?

I started out with a very early version of this: http://www.affordable-fuel-injection...draft-tbi.html. Utilizes the ZS carb bodies and the stock intake with a machined injector mounting plate that fits in place of the damper/piston in the old carbs. I'll post some pics tomorrow if I remember - getting old :)

Finally got around to getting some pics. The injectors are hidden within the ZS carb bodies, one injector each. Stock intake manifold, no IAC. TPS mounted on the end of the throttle linkage with a custom bracket. Magnetic pick-up in the dizzy from a dodge to provide a reference. Dual output adjustable regulator - one output for each carb.

Cool! I'm tempted to try something like that on my GT6+ before I try to swap in a GM 2.8 V6. I do love the exhaust sound of the straight 6 when I'm rowing through the gears!

thats really cool; you did a great clean job on it.

even most triumph guys might not notice it's injected when you pop the hood at first.

i betcha that swap made you rewire every possible electrical gremlin out too, didn't it.
