    MAF Conversion Problems

Finally got around to hooking up MAF sensor today and burnt a chip based off of $od_maf-experiment.BIN, this is for the truck in my signature. Truck fired right up idle smoothed out, actually smoothest it has ever idled. I have not got VSS hooked up at this time. Looked at TunerPro and saw that the O2 sensor was not showing up on dash or list, stays at 0mv. I have an A/F monitor and it is tracking along with O2 sensor. Also, I am getting MAF flowrate, but not seeing MAF signal, stays at 0hz. I double checked wiring, it was all ok. I then put my non MAF tune back in and unplugged MAF sensor and O2 sensor was showing up just fine with this tune on TP. Any ideas on what I am missing? I tried doing a search with no luck about these issues. Took it for a test drive, with MAF tune and it runs ok, is drivable, but seems like it is running lean. Thanks for any help.

Did you use the proper adx file for maf bin while reading the datastream?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am using the maf adx file. But, I am beginning to think that it could be an issue in the adx file. I believe that the PCM is seeing the O2 and MAF signals because the grams/sec is changing and the INT/BLMs are changing and I am not getting any codes. If I understand correctly these would not be changing and I would be getting error codes if the MAF/O2 signals were completely absent. I did find a post on another forum about this same issue, but it was from 2008 and no one had posted an answer.

Update. Tried viewing data with a non maf adx file and the O2 data was not being seen by it either, knew MAF data would not be present. It appears the maf bin is not allowing the O2 or MAF Frequency data to be transmitted for viewing. Not sure why my setup is being the odd one, as I have only seen one other issue of this same instance, they never posted a fix either. Truck is running very well, will just keep tuning as is.

Solved. After more searching, I finally found the answer, http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/di...-problems.html . I guess I wasn't using the right words to search before. But, data logs are now working.

Hey, @K2500 thanks for this. I switched which base TBI MAF bin i started with and what was supposed to be the most recent had the incorrect ALDL table. I was google'ing which one was correct and was getting ready to post about the difference when you found the answer.

I also found this: http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/po...812-post1.html it stopped all of the errors that i was getting and the disconnects when data logging. I also corrected the response packet size to 67.
