    Need help connecting to 1227165

I have the 12pin USB aldl cable from aldlcable and cannot connect to my ECM. Tried winaldl and TunerPro and cannot get data. Winaldl has a flashing red light and "5" in a small window at the top middle of the window and "122" flashes unde the CT sensor, which is apparently just erroneous information being displayed. I have had quite a few problems connecting to the various ECMs from AZ. The Original ECM worked fine when I was able to connect.

Seems I recall these ECMs being troublesome to connect to.

Anyway, I am trying to connect again with the current ECM and want to make sure I am doing everything correctly.

I got the definition file from tunerpro's site for my 89 L98 "F" car.

Tried both com ports 3 and 4.

    Appreciate any help.

I dont have any exp with that cable but most connection problems can be traced back to the correct/current drivers not being installed. Make sure you have the driver for your cable installed on you laptop. Does your laptop recognize the cable as being installed? if you're on a windows machine check the device manager for your cable or usb device.

    Thanks for the reply.

I uninstalled drivers. Then DL'ed the windows x86 2.10.00 drivers from here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm reinstalled device and still no communications.

TP reports "Cable Found and functional".

Tried the cable jumper settigns in both Normal and 10K Between A and B.

Tried Winaldl and TP RT again.

Any more ideas would be appreciated.

TP "Hardware not found" at the bottom of the screen. Tried same baud rate that worked in winaldl and TP's default rate and COMs 3 and 4....

Loaded this definition file from here.

    Still no luck.

    This must happen!!

don't know if it will help in your situation, but with my autoprom (on multiple laptops) i have to set the com port manually to com 5 in device manager and in tunerpro.....
any other port and it recognizes the hardware but won't connect to vehicle, you might try playing with different port numbers and have success.....GL
