    Error 51 7747

Any ideas on why I would be getting an error 51 (prom error) ? I have burned 3 new chips and it is on all of them. Truck runs fine, and I can't see where it is causing any tuning issues but something isn't happy. No check engine light either....

moates burn 2, chip adapter, tunerpro software,

51 will be from the checksum being wrong.some xdf's dont calculate the checksum.error 51 its probably running on the limp home mode resistors in the memcal.

I am using all the latest XDF, ADX files, and TunerPro

    TunerPro = version 5 build 5.00.8383.00
    XDF File = $42-1227747-V5.9.7.xdf
    ADX file = $42-1227747-V5.2.adx

I thought they were set up to auto update the check sums

It is and that should work fine. Be sure to save the bin before burning!

Even if you have a corrupt bin file it should work, but just for kicks try another bin.

Or change Mask ID to AA to disable check sum. Are you disconnecting batt or power to ECM to clear codes?

That may be the kicker....I haven't been disconnecting the battery each time I burn a new chip. I will grab a couple a chips, hit the bypass, datalog, wash, burn, datalog, wash, burn, datalog, add timing, datalog....etc May do this 5 or 6 times. Now that I have my BLM's near "perfect" up to 60 kpa cruising, figured I would explore the HIway lean avenue. That is when this came about.

So, I should burn another chip, disconnect the neg battery, reconnect the battery, install chip, and see where I am?

OK...please review the attached log. I cleared the codes and ran another lap and I did not see any indications that the HiWay Lean was enabling.

here is the Bin....I appreciate you looking at it. I noticed the BLM is freezing so the hi-way mode is engaging. I just need to do some more adjusting to achieve better MPG. 12 mpg SUCKS!!!!

I went to look at your bin it has been saved as a zip file or uploaded as a zip file . tuner pro will open it but it is all corrupted, you might want to start with a nother bin and not save or upload as a zip file.it is coruppeted bad unless it is from uploading or saving as a zip. showed the mask-14, cylinder count 159, I don't think it is a 159 cylinder

which bin file did you start with ?

that is a pretty good bin ,I changed hyway spark adder, some bins with hy lean crusie I would have to go into pe and get it to pick up a knock count before it would enter hy lean crusise. try this bin and if it don't go hlc floor it and see if you can force a few knocks, every thing looks good and should work.

Thank you for looking at it. So I may need to get it to kick into PE each time before it will resume HLC?
I will run it this weekend and see how it reacts.
