I have enabled the hiway patch and it shows it is enabled but it is not going into OL, which to my understanding it should when all the qualifiers are met and it goes into hiway mode. Is that not correct?

I just looked at the highway lean cruise code, it is supposed to be in closed loop.
Square body stepsides forever!!!
Can you post up a link to the write-up you found that information? I was under the impression that it would go into OL during the highway mode due to the AFR moving toward the 16:1 area and if it remained in CL the ecm would constantly adjust to get back to 14.7:1 thereby working against itself.

This is where I seen the reference to it running in OL during Hiway lean. EagleMark made the reference.

This is my latest datalog and bin file. The hiway lean isn't engaging and I do not see why...all parameters are being met and the patch is showing up as installed

I'll try to take a look at your data log later tonight.
But it does go Open Loop when it enters Hyway Lean Cruise. Sure hope your tune is in order before you enabled it!
Post your bin file too!

Thanks...I have washed and rinsed the VE tables and everything else seems right on. Spark Plugs are looking spot on, No codes, knock counts are around 3 at startup, but I feel that is the exhaust leak I am chasing around. I haven't did any WOT tuning yet but didn't think that would be important at this point. Am I wrong? Should I back off on the lean cruise till after I get WOT tuned in? Its a 4x4 cruiser so I am not racing it, just pulling my boat and hauling hay.

Mark, I thought that what happened is that it uses the open loop AFR tables in closed loop. Look at this piece of code.
DOREST:
; LDAA $08 ; status
; BPL NOWAY ; no hiway unless cls lp ok !!! here is where it checks the closed loop status Jim
LDAA $78 ; timer, hiway spark
CMPA $D025 ; threshold (same as hiway SA)

Okay, Mark I found the set to OL in the code. I was just looking at the patch, not the rest of the code. I WAS WRONG!!! Sorry

I would try removeing and reapplying the hlc patch and see what happens.
Always have to check for error codes when data logging and fix before log. You have an Error 51 Prom (very bad, nothing works right) set.
30 MPH is a little low to enable, your still accelerating. You want to be up to hiway cruise speed and not working hard when it goes into HLC.... unless you have other plans? It does not work well under load! Like around town...
