Post a screen shot of main timing table, PE adder, coolant compensatio, IAT compensation and high rpm adder and high rpm sa rpm limt constants so I can get a good picture of your spark advance.

we're all tunerpro users so imo this is way easier than a screeny

if you're willing to take a look and give me any advice, i'd appreciate it!

never tuned lower compression little smallblocks with tiny iron heads before, so it's totally new territory for me

new VE table is in there too, smoothed out and altered from datalog avg's

also a stock bin for compare

There is a guy over on thirdgen.org that converted his L03 to a carb, added headers and a "395" marine/ramjet cam and runs his distributor with the centrifugal advance locked out and the base timing at 28* with ported vacuum advance of 10* @ 10 in/hg. The stock spark maps are very conservative. I once ran both the B-car and F-car timing tables in my L05 and it liked both. The hotter F-car curve I could only run with 93 octane.

i do run 86 octane in this car too

i guess i'll try for around 26 degrees final and see what happens

the stock timing map is more like 23 degrees all in, and right now im running 3-4 degrees of base advance with no knock. it does surge at WOT, though, but that could be the AFR being whacked out. so at least i've proven it'll tolerate it without detonation.

    thanks for your advice
