    16171199 definitions??

My 93 pickup has a 16171199 ECU, I can get some data using the 7747 ADX & XDF but I don't think it's right. Shows a constant high voltage error and the open loop blm is 126.

A search turned up info that this ECU uses $OD, but that wouldn't connect without constant errors.

The ECU has the old style blue plugs

The bin is AZDS. It's a 1/2 ton short bed, 5.7, NV4500 5-speed. Bone stock, I'd like to tune it sometime, I think it could benefit.

I did a short log, just idling.

That may be a replacement ECM number? The one I come up with for AZDS is 16156480

What would I use for that? I found this in the index...

Pretty sure the ECU's never been replaced, my family has owned the truck since it came off the lot in Rawlins Wy.

I looked around for something close, so maybe $E6?? I was going to give it a try, seems like a 93 only.

**edit** Also found the bin in the index??

    TunerCat definition says $9A.

Could see if the ALDL file is listed in the XDF & ADX lookup?

Cool thanks Mark, I'll give $9A a shot after work.
FYI $e6 didn't work either. Lots of interesting stuff in there tho, way more than old $42

Yeah but $E6 is for a newer PCM comparable to the $0D 16197427, as a matter of fact it will run $0D.

When the newer trucks got a manual trans they got the old P3 ECM, so your really runing something similar to the 1227747 $42 just a differant OS/Mask/Definition.

When you use the Lookup Spreadsheet and find the ALDL.ds file used to make the data file, if it's not been converted to .ads or .adx just post it up here and I'll get it converted for you.

    The spreadsheet shows A179.ads

Went to tunercat and ordered the $9A download. Thanks, I forgot to look there...

I had that one already converted to .adx and added dashboards... but it's pretty basic.

My junkyard book suggests that the 16171199 ECM had no cross-references, and was a possibility in 93-94 trucks with the 5.0 and 5.7 engines. The 16168625 is also listed as a possible for that truck in 93. Maybe that was for auto trans(?) Those are the only two ECMs that I see listed for the 93 chev pickup with a 5.7. - I didn't see the 16156480 listed. Mike V

That's strange as CalData shows 16156480 as the ECM for that BCC...

Don't think any of those ECM would work with an E trans, were'nt all autos by then E ?

Thanks again Mark, you rock. I'll give it a try tonight.

I also found this thread searching for the A179.ads
    http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...light=a179.ads

I'm amazed by how much info is on this board, just have to put out the right searches to find it.

Be interesting to compare the Tunercat version when I get it.

**Edit** It works! Very basic like you said. Thanks again.

    Converting Tunercat def to TP??

So, I have the tunercat definition, can anyone convert this to work in TunerPro?? I'd be willing to pay for the service, I'm familiar with TP, like it and bought the license.

Or, am I better off using a more supported ECU, like a 7747 or 8747?? Is there any advantage to using the 1199?

A '7747 should plug right in, so if you have one available it might be the way to go just because there's lots more info out there for them. If you have to buy one, I'd probably go for the '7427 upgrade along with a Moates adapter and chip. You should be able to re-pin the connectors the same as you would with a 7747 to 7427 upgrade.
