    ECM 1227783 1987 LG3 Pontiac Bonneville

Hi guys, I need a little help. This is my first post here, so bear with me. My '87 Bonneville had a toasted 440T4 trans. I swapped in a 4t65-e and I'm running the diesel TCM standalone for that. All of the old transmissions diagnostics go through the current 1227783 PCM and I want to prevent any check engine lights from cropping up, this will be my wife's car and I don't want her worried. So, I want to tell the PCM that it is now in a manual shifted car, I want to enable highway mode and I want to turn off some of the diagnostics.

I could normally do all of that. But I found out that there is very little support for this PCM... like nothing, I have been searching for hours. So I guess I'm looking for an XDF file for a $44 mask AKBA code PROM. or help in making my own XDF file.

I've never heard of one? Have to remember that was the early days of DIY development and that was not a car that many people had an interest in hot rodding...

Wonder if there is a compatible ECM?PCM that could be re-pinned to your harness?

Or have you checked TunerCat? He has a lot of files not commonly used.

I think TunerCat may be the only person on the internet who has that definition file... I plugged the Bin into Tunercat's software and it requested $44 code be used. This is consistent with all the cross reference info I was able to find. He does have the file, but He wants $199 for the file... I only paid $350 for the car due to the bad transmission. I was hoping a 4kb definition file wouldn't cost more than half of the car's value.

OBDI definition files are only $19.95. Not sure how you got $199?

I just tried it again, the product description is different than before; you are right, $19.95 is the price... Hmm... strange. I'll check the history on my laptop when I get home to see just what was happening there. Thanks, Eaglemark, for your help!
