    injector pulse signal wire

I have a 94 gm 5.7 tbi that I recently installed an msd 8360 distributor in. I'm looking for a way to send a signal to my computer so it will pulse the injectors. I read that you can source a signal from the negative side of the coil but I'm not sure what wire in my harness to connect it to.

It should be A4, it's the purple/white wire going to the distributor connector. You may want to run a tach filter to make sure you have a proper signal.

Or better yet, put the stock dizzy back in, the computer controlled spark is 100 times better than mechanically controlled spark.

Aftermarket does not always mean better.

Why did you install a mechanical distributor in a computer controlled application?

The 8366 distributor is a direct replacement, ie the same as a stock unit. The only advantage would be it's new.

i wouldn't even get a new distributor base, maybe even just a good clean wrecker one if yours is screwy.

a bling factor distributor cap on cleaned up good condition stock base, maybe with a new drive gear if you want, is a win too..

cheap and plug-and-play, and the signal is as the ecm expects it...

3d spark tables are a bigger advantage than computerized fuel injection in my eyes..

think about it... vacuum advance that works when you want it to all across the board. temperature based control. cranking spark advance. added PE spark. timing retard way below base timing in retardedly high load areas. knock control. timing control in a closed loop with RPM for idle stabilization. tuning out cam surge like it's just another parameter.

    the advantages are huge.

i think right now if i had to give up one or the other, i'd throw a carb on it and keep the ecm and distrubutor without a second thought (im actually thinking of doing that if i end up getting really pissed off at this TBI stuff)

If you must have an MSD distributor? This is the correct one to bolt in...
