Correct Chip and does it make a difference

I have a 1990 Chevy C2500 5.7l TBI truck. A previous owner ripped out the auto tranny and put in a manual 5 speed. I took out the computer today 1227747 and it has ASDX chip. The truck runs OK and even upshift indicators work but from what I have read that chip is for automatic transmission. Is that so and if so what difference in truck operation would I see with an Auto tranny chip in a manual tranny car?

    Thanks,

    Gary

ASDX is for a manual transmission, the ASDU BCC is the auto version.
