stupid o2 question

an lt1 o2 sensor has about the same response rate and whatever as an 80s single wire sensor, right?

i know there are different types of elements, but all the 80s through 90s cars were the same type?

reason i ask, is i have a shoddy single wire o2, and a few good used lt1 sensors around.

i probably wont hook the heater up because this thing is like 4" from the exhaust valves, so it doesn't really need it. is that alright?

That would be fine. They all work the same. I wouldn't think you'd need the heater if the exhaust keeps it hot enough.
