New member with an old project.

Research for my project drove me to your site. Thanks to everyone who has contributed and shared their knowledge!

My current project is a 1967 M715. It is a tractor that I can drive on the road, and treat it as such. Used for crusing the backroads and other nonsence. I want reliability and simplicity, not looking for performance, simply wanting convienance the tbi has to offer. I bought an 88 Chevy 4x4 with a blown head gasket and picked out the harness/parts I needed for the transplant. Stumbled across a vortech that had 40k miles on it, rebuilt the 88 heads and slapped them on the vortech block. I'm sure to get some heat over using the 88 heads.

I wanted kept the stock t98 tranny and PTO driven winch. An adaptor kit with no instructions (fustrating) made it happon. Dropped the tank and cut out the top of a 88 chevy fuel tank and mounted it ontop of the original 715 tank so I could have a 12v sending unit and a proper pump. I did straighten out the bends in the in-tank lines to get the pre filter just off the bottom of the tank.

So thanks again for the site, see ya around!

    Justin

Darn Avatar... The 1967 M715 is hardly a tractor, but way cool rig... technicality? 1 /4 ton axles and lockers. Bout 25-30 years ago a guy got one and bolted in a SBC, then cut up the wheels to mount some big sand tires, not a lot available then! Did the sand dunes fine on the cheap!

He had most of the fording kit still on or re-rigged made for some cool underwater pictures while driving.
